At Mayur Watch Co, we sit right in the middle of Abids at 4-1-834. If you know the area, you know how it gets during the day. It’s a lot of noise and movement, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve had this spot for a long time. People come in with all sorts of problems, usually a battery that died or a glass that got cracked. We have watches all over the walls and in the glass cases. It’s not a big fancy showroom, just a practical place where we get work done. We see a lot of regular faces, people who live nearby or work in the offices around Abids. They usually stay for a chat while we fix something quick. We try to keep things organized, but when it’s busy, the counter gets covered in tools and parts. That’s just part of the job. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front of the shop and it gets quite bright inside. We keep the shop open six days a week. It’s a steady rhythm of opening the shutters, cleaning the glass, and waiting for the first person to walk in. We don’t go in for big advertisements. Most people find us because they were walking past or someone they know told them to come here. It’s a simple way to run things, and it works for us. We just take things as they come and try to get the work finished.
