Masqati Dairy Products Ltd. is right here at 22-4-470 in Alijah Kotla. Being so close to Charminar means things stay pretty hectic from dawn until late at night. You can hear the traffic and the calls for prayer while we work. The building itself has seen better days, maybe, but it stays cool inside even when the Hyderabad sun is beating down on the streets. Most of us have worked here for years. We know the regular faces who stop by. Sometimes the milk trucks get stuck in the narrow lanes because of the rickshaws, but we manage to sort it out eventually. It is just the way things go in this part of town. We keep the floors scrubbed and the equipment running, though the noise of the machines is something you just get used to after a week. There is always a lot of clinking of bottles and crates being moved around on the stone floor. It is a bit cramped in the office area with all the ledgers and old desks, but we find what we need. People come and go, asking questions or checking on deliveries. We don't spend much time on fancy stuff. We just focus on getting the dairy products out the door. It’s dusty outside today, so we keep the shutters halfway down to keep the breeze moving without letting the grit in. That's just how a typical Tuesday looks for us here.
