Life at Flat 502 in Bhagya Shree Apartments is mostly about managing files and talking on the phone. We are on Street 14 in the Tarnaka area. Since the office is in an actual apartment building, it doesn't feel like a normal place of business. It is more like a residence that we filled up with desks and import-export documents over the years. Some of the neighbors in Nagarjuna Nagar wonder what we are doing with all those folders and boxes. We just handle the logistics of moving goods around. It involves a lot of waiting for emails to arrive and checking on shipping schedules. We don't have a sign out front or a shop window. You have to know which button to push on the intercom to get in. It is usually quiet here, unless there is a problem with a late container at the port. We drink way too much tea and try to stay organized, even if the filing cabinets are overflowing. Tarnaka is a good place to work because everything we need is just down the street. We aren't a big corporation with a tall building. We are just a small group of people working out of a flat, making sure the orders are handled right. It is a practical way to run a business and it seems to work for us without needing anything fancy or polished.
