Harsha Engineering Works

We are over at Plot No. 53 on Road No. 15, in Phase-1 of the Ida. It’s a typical engineering shop. We’ve got machines running most of the day and there’s always the smell of oil and cut metal in the air. We do various types of repair work and custom parts for other businesses in the area. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear a suit. Most of us are in grease-stained shirts by noon. We’ve been at this for several years now. We started with one lathe and a couple of drills, and we’ve slowly added more gear over time. The floor is concrete and there are piles of metal shavings in the corners that we sweep up at the end of the shift. We don't have a big office or a secretary. If you come by, you’ll probably find the owner under a machine or talking to one of the guys about a specific part. We just focus on getting the dimensions right and making sure the parts fit. It’s practical work. Sometimes we hit a snag with a difficult design, but we usually figure it out after a bit of head-scratching. We’re just local mechanics and engineers doing our thing in the industrial zone. It’s noisy and messy, but it’s what we know. We get plenty of walk-ins from nearby plots too. It's a tight community of builders and fixers around here.
