Jay Ambe Engineering Works

You can find us at F-2 in the Satellite Industrial Estate over in Bala Nagar. We are pretty close to the Fateh Nagar Masjid, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find the shop for the first time. Jay Ambe Engineering Works is a bit of a crowded space because we have all our tools and materials packed into the unit. There is always the smell of oil and cut metal in the air. We spend our days mostly working on whatever comes through the door, whether it's a part that needs turning on the lathe or some welding that needs to be done. It gets quite loud when the grinders are going, so we don't do much talking while the work is happening. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by lunch time, and we have to sweep it up so we don't trip over anything. Being in an industrial estate like this, we have neighbors doing all sorts of other trades, so there is always something going on nearby. Bala Nagar is a busy area with a lot of trucks moving in and out of the narrow lanes. It’s a practical place to work, even if it’s a bit gritty and dark inside the shop sometimes. We just focus on the machines and getting the pieces right. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at this spot for a while now.
