Itc Ltd (International Business Division)

Our office is situated at 31 Sarojini Devi Road. It is a busy part of the city and the traffic outside never really seems to stop. Working at Itc Ltd (International Business Division) means we spend a lot of time inside these four walls. The building is fairly old, with high ceilings and windows that rattle whenever a heavy truck passes by. We do not have any of those modern open-plan layouts you see in magazines. Instead, it is a series of rooms filled with filing cabinets and heavy wooden desks. The light is not great in the afternoons, so we have to keep the lamps on. We spend our days dealing with a lot of paperwork and digital records. It can be tedious, but it is the job. Most of us have been here for years, so we have a set way of doing things. We take our lunch breaks together in the back room where there is a small stove for making tea. Sarojini Devi Road is always full of life, which is nice when you need a distraction. You can see the street vendors and the crowds moving through the glass. We do not try to be anything we are not. We are just a group of people making sure the business side of things stays on track. It gets hot in the summer and the air conditioner struggles sometimes, but we manage. It is just a normal place where work gets done.
