Way out in Sholavaram Village, at No 5, you’ll find our facility. It’s quite a trip out here to Ponneri Taluk if you’re coming from the main city. The area is much quieter than the center of town, with more trees and open space, which is a nice change. We spend our time here dealing with appliances. It’s a big operation, but at the end of the day, it’s just a group of people making things that go into kitchens and homes. The building is large, and it can get a bit lonely in some of the corridors if you’re walking through late in the shift. We have a lot of locals from the village working with us, which gives the place a different feel than a city factory. It’s a bit more relaxed, though we still have to meet our numbers. The commute can be a bit of a drag when the rains come and the roads get muddy. We’ve had some of the same machines for years, and they have their own quirks that only the older staff really understand. We don't go in for big speeches or polished presentations. We just come in, do the work at Indo Matsushita Appliances Co Ltd/National Panason, and head back home. It’s a steady life for everyone involved. We just take it one day at a time out here in the village.
