Indira Television Limited

Indira Television Limited is located way up on the 10th floor of Sakshi Tower. Being on Road No 1 in Banjara Hill means we have a pretty good view of the city, but we are usually too busy to look out the windows. We are right near Care Hospital, so we hear sirens pretty often throughout the day. The elevators in this building can be a bit slow, especially during the lunch rush when everyone is trying to get down at the same time. Inside the office, there are cables everywhere and people running around with cameras or clipboards. It’s a bit of a maze with all the different rooms for editing and broadcasting. It’s never really quiet here; there’s always someone talking or a TV screen playing something back at high volume. We spend a lot of time sitting under bright lights or staring at monitors until our eyes get tired. Sometimes we have guests coming in for interviews, and they usually look a bit lost until someone points them in the right direction. We drink way too much tea to stay awake during the long shifts. It isn't a typical nine-to-five kind of place. Things happen at odd hours and we just have to be ready for it. The building gets a bit chilly with the air conditioning running all the time to keep the machines cool. We just grab a sweater and keep working on the next broadcast without thinking too much about it.
