Dealing with transformers means there is always heavy lifting and a lot of technical stuff to look at every day. The workshop is usually full of wires, metal casings, and tools scattered around the workbenches. It’s not the cleanest looking place, but that’s because we’re actually working in here. We deal with repairs and putting things together mostly. Phase I is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the other units and trucks passing by the gate. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been working with electrical gear for years, so we just get on with it. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone in a suit greeting you at the door. Usually, someone will just look up from what they’re doing and see what you need. It’s practical work. Sometimes parts take a while to arrive, or a job takes longer than we thought it would, but we just keep at it until it’s finished. People around here know us as the transformer guys. We’ve stayed in this same spot because it works for us and the space is enough for the heavy equipment we have to move around. It's a simple setup, but it gets the job done and keeps everyone busy from Monday to Saturday.
