Global Exports And Services is tucked away in room 710 of the Chenoy Trade Centre over on Parklane. It’s a pretty typical office building, always full of people rushing to elevators or carrying files around. Our office isn't very big, but it fits the desks and the computers we need to handle all the export paperwork. Parklane is a busy area, so getting to work in the morning can be a bit of a headache with the traffic. Once we are inside the trade centre, though, it’s all about emails, phone calls, and tracking shipments. We deal with a lot of different services, so the phones are always ringing. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with all the different time zones we have to keep track of, but that’s the nature of export work. The furniture in the office is getting a bit old, and the carpet has some stains, but it’s a working space, not a showroom. We spend a lot of time talking to customs agents and shipping lines. There is always a pile of documents on someone’s desk waiting for a signature or a stamp. It’s not glamorous, and there are days when things go wrong with a shipment and we have to spend hours fixing it. We just keep at it because that is what we do here at Global Exports And Services in the heart of Parklane. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone time, but it keeps the business going.
