Gis Engineer

This is my workspace over in KPHB, Phase 2. It’s located on the ground floor of EWS-180. Sukanya Devi runs things here. We deal with GIS work, which is basically making sense of maps and location data on computers. It’s a small office, nothing too fancy to look at when you walk in. We have our systems set up and we spend most of our hours looking at satellite imagery or plotting coordinates for different sites. It can be tedious work for some, but we find it interesting enough. The area around here in Hyderabad is quite busy with all the residential blocks and shops. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to find us when they have a project to discuss. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address on the door. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and big monitors. We take on various mapping tasks for different clients. Sometimes the work is for land surveys or just organizing local data for a construction project. We keep our own hours, usually starting early to beat the heat of the afternoon. It’s a low-key operation. We don't spend money on fancy furniture because the computers are what matter for the engineering stuff we do. We've been at this location for a while and the locals in KPHB know us as the map people who stay busy with their screens all day long.
