Sayeed Brothers

We’ve been at Shop 24 and 25 in Salarjung Market for a long time now. If you know the Dewandevdi area, you know how busy it gets around here. It’s always crowded and noisy, but that’s just how things are in this part of town. We open up early, sweep the front, and get ready for whatever the day brings. People stop by mostly because they know where to find us. We don't have fancy signs or anything like that. It’s just us, the same faces you’ve seen for years. Sometimes it’s quiet, and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on the street outside. Other days, everyone comes at once and it’s a bit of a rush. We try to keep things organized on the shelves, but in a small shop, stuff tends to pile up. Most of our neighbors are doing the same thing, just trying to get through the work week. We deal with all sorts of people coming through the market. Some stay to chat, others are in a big hurry to get home. The shop isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we keep our stock. We don’t really do much advertising. Usually, word of mouth is enough for folks in Dewandevdi. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. It’s a simple life here at Sayeed Brothers, but it keeps us occupied. There isn't much to it, but it's our place and we've been running it this way since the beginning without any big changes.
