Mohini Plastic

You can find us at 15-7-215 in Begumbazar, Hyderabad. It’s right in the heart of one of the busiest markets you’ll ever see. Most days, the street is so crowded with shoppers and laborers carrying loads on their heads that you can barely walk. Mohini Plastic is basically a shop and a small warehouse full of all kinds of plastic goods. We have stacks of buckets, tubs, and household items reaching almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We spend most of the time helping customers find exactly the size or color they want, or haggling over the price of a bulk order. It’s loud, it’s sweaty, and it’s always busy. We don’t really have a back office to hide in, so we’re right there on the floor most of the day. The building is old, like everything else in Begumbazar, and we’ve squeezed every bit of space we can out of it. Sometimes a shipment arrives and we have to move everything around just to get the new stock in. It’s constant movement. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we keep an eye on each other’s stuff. It’s a simple life of buying and selling, making sure the inventory stays fresh and that we don't run out of the basics that people need for their homes. Every evening we close up the shutters and head home through the tight alleys.
