Vijaya Engineering Works

We have been running things here at Plot No 20 in Cherlapally for a good number of years now. If you know Phase II of the IDA, you probably know how dusty and busy it gets around noon. Most days start early with the shutter going up around eight. There are five of us usually working on various jobs that come in from the other units nearby. It is not a very fancy place, just a standard workshop with the tools we need to get things done. We do a lot of turning and milling on the older machines we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside the gate and wait for it to come back while having tea from the stall at the corner. The address is quite easy to find once you get into the industrial area. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and the phone. People mostly come to us because they know we will stay late if a job needs to be finished for the next morning. We have seen the area change a lot since we moved in. More buildings are coming up every year. It used to be much quieter. Now there are trucks moving in and out all day long. We try to keep our workspace organized but with metal scraps and oil, it is always a bit of a mess by Friday afternoon.
