We are up on the second floor of Jayanthi Towers. If you know the Habsiguda X Road, you know it’s a mess of vehicles and people. Being near Green Bawarchi is both a blessing and a curse because the smell of biryani is always there. It makes everyone hungry by eleven in the morning. The stairs to the office are a bit steep. We’ve got a couple of rooms and a lot of cabinets for all the files we keep. Door No 1-12/A has been our address for a good bit now. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s never a moment of silence. We just pull the curtains and try to focus. The fans hum all day. It’s a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time, but we make it work. We don't bother with fancy decorations. There are some old calendars on the wall and a water cooler that makes a weird noise. It’s a standard office setup, nothing more. We see the same faces every day at the tea stall downstairs. Life moves pretty fast around here. We just try to keep up with the paperwork and the phone calls. Sometimes the lift in the building doesn't work, so we get our exercise for the day. It’s just how things go. We keep a stash of extra pens because they always seem to go missing. The desks are a bit old, but they are sturdy enough for the computers.
