We are over in Basheerbagh at Plot No. 5-9-47/13. It’s a bit of a specific spot to find if you aren't familiar with these streets. We’re right beside the Masjid and located in the Kirloskar Hospital Lane. The lane is usually pretty narrow and can get blocked up easily with cars and people. At Engineering Enterprises, we spend most of our time dealing with mechanical parts and repairs. It’s a lot of grease and the constant smell of oil. We aren't some high-tech lab with white coats and clean tables. We’re usually in our work clothes, trying to fix a machine or figure out why a part isn't fitting right. The shop is full of tools and spare pieces of metal that we might need one day. It’s noisy because of the machines running, and sometimes we have to shout over the racket to hear each other talk. Being near the hospital and the masjid means there’s a lot of different people passing by all the time. We’ve been in this lane for quite a while now. Most of our work comes from people telling their friends about us. Someone has a problem with a motor or a pump, and they bring it to us. We take a look, see if it can be fixed, and tell them honestly what the deal is. It’s practical work. We don't have a website or anything, just our physical shop.
