Balati Traders

Our shop, Balati Traders, is right by the Pochamma Temple in Fateh Nagar, specifically at D-153. Being near the temple means there is always something going on outside, which keeps things interesting. We mostly handle trading different goods, so our day involves a lot of lifting boxes and checking lists. It is a simple setup. We have shelves lined with whatever we are stocking that week. Sometimes it is a bit cramped in here when a new shipment arrives and we have not found a place for everything yet. We do not have fancy displays or bright lights. It is just a regular local shop where we get to know our neighbors. People stop by to chat as much as they do to buy things. The building is older, but it stays relatively cool in the heat. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or making sure deliveries are on the way. Sometimes the truck cannot get down the narrow street, so we have to carry things from the main road. It keeps us busy. We try to keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the area. It is not a big corporate operation, just a few of us making a living in Fateh Nagar. Every morning starts with sweeping the front step and getting the ledgers ready. We just take it one day at a time and see what needs doing.
