Arctern

Arctern is based out of Hyderabad, specifically in the Bhavya'S Annandham Apartments. We are up in unit G-702. It’s a residential complex, so it doesn't feel like a typical workplace. When you walk through the gates, the security guards usually ask where you’re going because it’s mostly families living here. Being on the seventh floor gives us a bit of a view of the surrounding buildings in India. The elevator is one of those older ones that jitters a little bit when it starts moving. Inside the apartment, we’ve turned the bedrooms into work areas and the main hall is where the bigger tables are. It feels quite cozy, almost like you’re just visiting a friend's house to work. We have a small kitchen where someone is usually making tea or heating up lunch. The sound of the city is always there in the background, but it’s muffled because we are up high. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids are playing in the hallway, and you can hear them laughing. It’s a bit of an unconventional setup for a company, but it suits the way we do things. We don't have a big sign outside or anything like that. You just have to know which block to go to. It’s a quiet, steady place to spend the day, far away from the noisy main roads of Hyderabad.
