You can find us at 4-4-185 on Hill Street, right in the heart of Ranigunj. Amit Engineering Co is a small operation where we handle mechanical repairs and some light engineering work. Hill Street is always packed with people and vehicles, so it can be a bit of a challenge getting things in and out sometimes. Our shop has been in the family for a while. We have some old lathes and a couple of newer drills that we use every single day. Most of the time, we’re covered in grease or metal shavings. It’s the kind of place where customers just drop by with a broken part and ask if we can fix it by tomorrow. We don’t usually say no if we can help it. The office is just a desk covered in drawings and old invoices. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything. It’s just a few of us who know how to work with our hands. Ranigunj is a good place for this kind of work because everyone knows where to go when they need something made or repaired. We just try to keep the quality decent and the prices fair for the neighbors. It’s a quiet life inside the shop despite the noise outside. We spend our mornings setting up the machines and our afternoons finishing up the jobs. It might not be the fanciest engineering shop in the city, but we take care of the work that comes through our door.
