Akhila Engineering

We are tucked away in Panchasheela Colony over in Balanagar. The shop is at H No. 24-752/21, and if you’re not looking for it, you might miss it. It’s mostly just the sound of metal being cut or welded all day long. We started small and stayed that way because we like knowing exactly what’s going on with every job. There is a lot of iron and steel lying around the yard. We do a bit of everything when it comes to engineering, mostly parts for other businesses or repairs that people can’t do themselves. The floor is never really clean, no matter how much we sweep, because there’s always some shavings or dust coming off the lathes. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a script. Sometimes we get small jobs from the neighbors, like fixing a broken gate or a garden tool, and we don’t mind doing those between the bigger engineering projects. The tea stall at the corner of Panchasheela Colony knows our order by heart and brings over a tray every afternoon without us even asking. We don’t have a fancy logo on our shirts or anything. We just wear what’s comfortable for working with heavy machinery. It is a noisy, messy life, but we wouldn’t really know what to do with ourselves if we were sitting in a quiet office all day. We just focus on getting the work done right.
