Agarwal Engineering Works

We’ve been here at A-46 in Ranga Reddy Nagar for quite a while now. It’s a busy part of the Kukatpally industrial area, and most days you can hear the machines running from early morning. My father started Agarwal Engineering Works because he liked fixing things, and that’s basically what we still do today. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We have our lathes and tools, and there is usually grease on the floor by noon. Most people find us because they have a part that broke or they need something specific made for their own shop. We don't spend much time on the computer or making ads. We just focus on the job at hand. Sometimes it gets loud with all the noise from the other IDA units, but that’s just how it is around here. We know the neighbors and they know us. If someone stops by, they usually find us at the back working on a project. We keep things pretty simple. There isn’t a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the equipment. We don't have a big waiting room, so people usually just stand around and talk while we look at their drawings. It’s hard work, and the summers in Kukatpally get really hot inside the shed, but we are used to it by now. We just try to get the pieces right so they work like they are supposed to.
