Abi Engineering Works

The workshop is at B-53, right across from where Speck Systems is located in the Ec Complex in Kushaiguda. It’s an industrial part of Hyderabad, so there is always the sound of machinery and welding in the air. We have a good amount of space for our equipment, though it feels smaller when we have a big project going on. The roof is corrugated metal and it gets quite loud when it rains hard. We’ve been in Kushaiguda for a long time and seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. There are more buildings now than there used to be. Most of our work is done on the shop floor where the benches are. We don't have an air-conditioned office or anything, just a small corner with a table for the accounts and a few chairs. The guys here have been working together for years, so we have a good rhythm. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are constantly sweeping up. It’s a simple operation where we just focus on the engineering tasks that come our way. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a job, but that’s just how it goes in this line of work. We usually grab some food from the local vendors nearby during the afternoon. It’s a hard-working place, and we like it that way. There is always something that needs to be cut, bent, or welded before the day is over.
