Our facility is out at Madli Cross on P.B. Road. It’s about 37 kilometers away from Hubli, so it’s a bit of a drive out into the countryside. Being out here makes sense for what we do, which is mostly exports and handling large quantities of goods. The site is quite big because we need the space for the trucks and the storage. It’s usually a bit dusty and loud with the movement of machinery and vehicles. We don't have a fancy corporate office; the main building is just where we manage the scales and the shipping manifests. The weather out here can be quite harsh, either very hot or very rainy, but the work doesn't really stop. Most of the people working here are from the nearby villages and towns. We know the roads around here very well. It’s a straightforward operation. We receive the loads, check the quality, and get them ready for export. There’s not much for a visitor to see unless they are interested in big piles of commodities or trucks. We focus on getting the weight right and making sure the trucks leave on time. It’s hard work and the days can be long, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years. We just keep things moving out here on the highway. We’ve become a part of the landscape at this point, just another stop along the long stretch of P.B. Road.
