You can find us at 58 G T Road, not too far from Kedarnath Hospital. This part of Howrah is always bustling, and being right on G T Road means there is never a dull moment outside our door. Travel Helpline is basically just a few of us working out of this office. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high, but it works. We handle a lot of calls every day. People have all sorts of questions, and we do what we can to find the right information for them. It’s a lot of checking schedules and writing things down on sticky notes that get stuck everywhere. We don’t use any fancy scripts or corporate talk. If someone calls, we just talk to them like a neighbor. The hospital nearby brings a lot of people to this area, so we see many different faces throughout the week. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming when the traffic is heavy and everyone is in a hurry, but we just stay focused on the paperwork. We’ve got our routine down now. It’s about being reliable and showing up every morning to open the office. There’s no big secret to it, just staying at the desk and making sure the details are handled as they come in. We just keep our heads down and do the work, day after day, until it is time to head home.
