Tapan Nandy

Our spot is right on 26 Bhagaban Chatterjee Lane in Kadamtala, which is a busy little part of Howrah. Tapan Nandy is the name on the door and we have been in this neighborhood for quite a while now. The lane is narrow so it can be a bit of a squeeze when deliveries come through. Every morning the shutters go up and we start seeing what the day has for us. The office isn't very large but it fits what we need. We have a few desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. You can hear the sounds of the street outside all day long, from the rickshaws to the neighbors talking. It is a very local atmosphere here. We don't do much in terms of fancy decorations. We just focus on the work that needs to get done. Sometimes the electricity goes off for a bit but we just keep going. It is a familiar routine for everyone in Howrah. We know the people around here and they know us. Most of the time is spent on the phone or writing things down in ledgers. It is straightforward and practical. We don't try to be something we aren't. Just a local business on a regular street trying to keep things running smoothly day after day without too much fuss. We often find ourselves helping out someone nearby with a small task or sharing news from the morning papers. That is just how life goes in Kadamtala.
