S. R. Trading Co.

S. R. Trading Co. is located at 547, G.T. Road (South). We are on the second floor, so you have to walk up some fairly steep stairs to reach us. The building is old, and the walls have that yellowed look that comes with years of being near a busy road like the G.T. Road. Outside, there is a constant stream of trucks, buses, and rickshaws, and the sound of horns never really stops until very late at night. Our space is mostly just a big room filled with whatever we happen to be trading at the moment. There are boxes piled up, some open and some taped shut, and a desk near the window where the light is better. We spend a lot of time on the phone, talking to suppliers and checking on prices. The floorboards creak when you walk on them, and we have a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit on its highest setting. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have any decorations on the walls, just a calendar from three years ago that someone forgot to take down. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we spend the first ten minutes of the day dusting off the desks. It’s just how it is working on the G.T. Road. We’ve been here a while and it suits us fine, just doing our daily trade.
