Ajit Kumar Ray Company

Our office is at No. 59/7 Natabar Paul Road in Kadamtala. It is quite close to the Bidhubhusan Girls High School. Every morning and afternoon, the street gets filled with students and parents, so it’s very lively. Ajit Kumar Ray Company has been in this spot for a while now. The building is older and has those high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler, though we still need the fans on. Inside, it’s mostly desks piled with ledgers and papers. We aren't really into the whole modern digital office look. We like our paper files. You can hear the buses and rickshaws on Natabar Paul Road all day long. Sometimes the tea boy from the corner comes by with a tray of small cups. We take a break and sit by the window to watch the traffic. Kadamtala is a busy part of town, so there is always something happening outside. Our walls are a pale yellow and we have a few old calendars hanging up. We don't have a fancy lobby. If you walk in, you’re basically right in the middle of where we work. We know the neighbors pretty well, like the guy who runs the stationery shop nearby. It’s a comfortable routine for us. We get the paperwork done, talk to the people who stop by, and then lock up when the sun goes down. It’s just a regular local business.
