Rai Consultancy

Rai Consultancy is tucked away in the Salkia area of Bally Howrah. Most days here start with the same routine of opening up the shutters and dusting off the desks before the first person walks in. It’s not a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. We just have our chairs, a few computers that sometimes take a bit too long to start up, and plenty of registers. Being in Salkia means there is always a lot of noise coming from the street, but you get used to the sounds of the horns and the people outside after a while. We spend a lot of time looking at papers and helping people figure out what they need to do for their specific situations. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk about local news while drinking tea from the stall around the corner. Other days, three people show up at once and it gets a bit cramped in here. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the files end up in piles that only we understand. It’s just the way we work here in Howrah. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and the neighbors know us. It is a practical space for practical work. Nothing more and nothing less. We don't really do big meetings or anything, just sit down and get through the tasks one by one until it’s time to go home. It is a simple life at the office.
