Jhinook International

Our office is located at 51/2/3 B.G. Road. It’s not far from the Botanic Garden, so we get a bit of a breeze from that direction sometimes. Jhinook International has been operating from this spot for a good while. It’s a regular building, nothing that stands out much from the street. We do international trade work, so there's a lot of back and forth with shipping companies and customs agents. Our desks are usually covered in forms and letters. It’s a small team, just a few of us who know the routine. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We just handle our specific accounts and make sure everything is moving like it should. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it’s dead quiet for hours. We usually have tea around four o’clock, which is a nice break. The road outside can get pretty muddy when it rains, so we try to keep the floors clean inside. We don't have any polished brochures or big mission statements to show off. We just do the work that comes in. Most of the people we deal with have known us for years. We’re just regular people trying to run a decent business and get through the week without too many problems. It’s a quiet enough life here on B.G. Road. We just keep going one day at a time.
