Balaji Engineering

We’ve been running Balaji Engineering for quite a while now. Our place is right on the 6 National Highway, practically a stone's throw from the Howrah Amta level crossing. If you know the area, you know how busy that spot gets with the trains and the traffic coming through Tentulkuly. It’s a bit noisy at times but we got used to it. Inside the workshop, things are usually moving. We have our regulars who drop by when they need something specific handled. It’s mostly just us working through the day, making sure the machines are doing what they’re supposed to do. Some days the humidity here in Bengal really gets to you, especially in the afternoon, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. The local tea stall nearby is where we usually end up for a break. We started small and stayed that way because it works for us. There isn't much to say about the building itself, it's just a practical space where we get the job done. Most people find us because they see the sign near the crossing or someone told them we’re the ones to see for engineering work in the village. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that, just a regular workplace with grease on the floor and tools on the benches. We’ve seen the highway change over the years, more trucks now than before, but we’re still here doing our thing.
