National Productivity Council

The National Productivity Council here is located with Shri Bhanu Chakraborty at Keota Sarat Park in Sahaganj. It’s in the Hooghly district, which has a lot of history and industry around it. We operate out of a space that feels more like a community office than a corporate headquarters. It’s not about having a grand entrance; it’s about the conversations we have inside. We spend our days looking into how local workshops and factories can operate without wasting so much effort. It’s a lot of observation and note-taking. Sometimes we’re out in the field more than we are at our desks. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we take the work seriously. You might see a few of us debating over a diagram or checking some old files to see how a problem was solved before. It’s a collaborative kind of place. We don't pretend to have all the answers immediately, but we’re good at digging until we find a way to make things work better. The neighborhood is quiet enough that we can actually hear ourselves think, which is a plus when you’re dealing with numbers and logistics all day. We’re just a small part of the bigger picture, helping out where we can in this part of West Bengal. It’s honest work, and we enjoy the challenge of it. There is always something new to figure out when the sun comes up.
