Ashok Jute Company

Ashok Jute Company is located at 66 Dewanjee Street in Rishra, West Bengal. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The building is old and has that smell of jute and dust that you find in this part of the state. It’s not a fancy office. We have high ceilings and some old wooden rafters. Most of the space is taken up by the materials we handle every day. There are three of us working here regularly. We spend a lot of time moving bundles around and checking the quality of what comes in. Rishra is a place with a lot of history in this trade, and we’re just one small part of it. The street outside is narrow, so it’s always a bit of a struggle when a big truck needs to get through. We have an old desk where we keep the accounts. It’s got a lot of scratches and tea stains on it from over the years. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we mostly deal with people we’ve known for decades. The rainy season can be tough because the air gets so damp, but we just keep the covers on everything and keep going. It’s steady work, nothing too fast-paced. We just try to get the orders out on time and keep the place running. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s just the nature of the business we’re in.
