Our office is tucked away at Khanabati, in the Chanditala area of Hooghly. It's a quiet part of West Bengal compared to the big cities, I suppose. We are easy to find if you know where the post office is nearby. The building is simple and we have been operating here for some time now. Every morning, we open up the shutters and let some fresh air in before the sun gets too high. Most of the people who come to see us are from the surrounding villages. They come to talk about their life insurance or to drop off some documents they needed to submit for their claims. We have a few desks and some plastic chairs for visitors to sit on while we check their files. It gets quite hot during the summer months, so the ceiling fans are always running at full speed. We mostly handle paperwork and help people understand what they need to do for their policies. It’s not a big corporate building, just a local place where we work. Sometimes the power goes out, so we have to wait a bit to get back to the computers, which can be annoying. We know many of our visitors by name since it's a small community. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s just us doing the daily tasks like filing, typing, and answering the phone. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon season. We just keep things moving along.
