This part of Jindal Steel Power Ltd. is situated along the Durgapur Expressway in Kolkata. It’s a very busy area with a lot of heavy trucks moving in and out at all hours. We share space near Darcl Logistics and B.D Casting. It’s a very industrial setting. You can always hear the sound of big engines and the clanking of metal being moved around. There is a lot of dust because of the road and the heavy work going on nearby. It isn't a place for suits and fancy ties. We deal with a lot of logistics and making sure materials get where they need to go. The office here is very practical. It has the basics like desks, some old filing cabinets, and a phone that rings more often than not. We spend a lot of time checking manifests and talking to drivers who are tired from the road. The weather out here on the expressway gets really hot in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around the room. People who work here have been doing this for years and know the routines. They know the routes and the smells of the industrial zone by heart. It’s a grit-and-grind kind of place. We don’t do much in the way of fancy meetings. Usually, problems are solved right there on the floor or by the loading docks. It’s just how we operate out here. It’s a lot of hard work and keeping track of things.
