You can find us at number 88 in the Auto Market in Hisar. It’s a pretty loud place most of the time because of all the mechanics and the spare parts shops nearby. Kulbir Singh has been set up here in Haryana for a good while now. The ground is usually a bit dusty from the trucks coming in and out, and there’s always the sound of someone hammering on a metal frame or revving an engine. It’s not the kind of place where you’d wear your best shoes, but it’s where the work happens. The shop front is simple, mostly just some shelves and a few chairs for when people need to sit down for a minute. We don't have fancy air conditioning, usually just a ceiling fan that hums throughout the day. Hisar gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the water cooler full. People walk by all day, mostly workers or folks looking for a specific part. We’ve grown used to the grease and the noise. It feels right being in the middle of the market instead of stuck in some quiet office building. Everything we need is right within walking distance. Sometimes we share a meal with the neighbors when things quiet down in the evening. It’s a honest way to spend the day. We don't try to polish it up.
