We've been at Plot No.73 for quite a while now. Most people know us over here at Jahajpul Chowk, right in Ward No-7. It’s usually busy out front with trucks coming and going, especially when the cement loads arrive in the morning. We started this place because people needed building supplies nearby and it just made sense to set up shop here. The yard gets a bit dusty when it's dry out, but that's just how it is when you're moving bags of cement all day long. My cousin helps me out with the orders and we try to keep the steel stacked neatly, though it doesn't always stay that way during the rush. We see a lot of the same contractors every week. Sometimes they stop for tea across the street before picking up their stuff. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to actually organize the inventory properly. We deal with the local weather and the traffic at the chowk like everyone else does around here. If you're looking for us, look for the big gate near the corner. It's a simple operation really, nothing too complicated about it. We just make sure the stock is there when someone needs it for a house or a repair job. It’s a lot of heavy lifting but it keeps us busy every day.
