I’ve been taking photos around Gugodh for a long time now. Tushar Yadav Photography isn't some big city studio with expensive lights and assistants running everywhere. It’s mostly just me and my camera gear, going where the work takes me. Gugodh is a fairly quiet place, but there’s always something happening if you keep your eyes open. I do a lot of weddings because everyone around here knows each other and they want someone local. It’s nice to capture those moments for families I’ve known since I was just a kid. I also take pictures of local festivals or just regular people wanting a simple portrait for their wall. My setup is very basic. I don't really like over-editing things on the computer because I think people should look like themselves in their photos. Some days I'm out in the dusty fields catching the light at sunset, and other days I’m squeezed into a small living room for a child's birthday party. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the right second to click the button, but I don’t mind the wait. People in Gugodh are very friendly, so I usually end up having a cup of tea at every single job I go to. I keep my camera clean and ready to go in my bag at all times. I don't have a big shop front, just my name and the work I do for the folks in the village. It is a good way to live.
