Devdanya Farmers Producer Companylimited is located in a small place called Teertha. It’s in the Kundgol Taluk of Dharwad district. Our office is just at H.No -78, near the new plots. If you know this area, you know it’s famous for its soil and the kind of chillies we grow around here. We aren't a big corporation from the city. We are just local people who decided it was time to work together instead of competing all the time. The building is simple, just a house really, where we meet up to discuss what we are going to plant or how to get the harvest to the market. Dharwad has its own pace, and we follow that. We don't have a website with fancy photos. Most of our members are just farmers from the surrounding fields who come in with mud on their boots. We talk about the rain, the cost of fertilizer, and whose daughter is getting married. It’s a community thing more than a corporate one. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a calendar and some notes about the next meeting. We do our best to make sure everyone gets a fair share. It’s hard work, and the sun is hot, but we’ve been doing this for a long time now. We just take things as they come and try to keep our farms going.
