Akshara English Medium School

Our school is located right in Tilavalli, Haveri. We have been here for a while and most people in the area know where we are. It is a quiet enough place to run a school most of the time. We mostly spend our mornings getting the rooms opened up and making sure everything is set for the kids when they walk through the doors. Running an English medium school in a place like this keeps us pretty busy every day. We do not have a big office or anything, just a simple setup where we can get the teaching done. Sometimes the weather here makes things a bit messy, especially when it rains hard, but we manage. We have local staff who have been with us for years. It feels more like a community thing than a big institution. We handle all the usual school stuff like attendance and lesson plans without making a big fuss about it. The parents around here are mostly our neighbors, so we see them at the market too. We just try to keep the place tidy and make sure there is enough chalk and paper for everyone in the classrooms. It is not always perfect, and some days are definitely more stressful than others, but that is just how running a school goes. We just take it one day at a time here in Tilavalli. There is always something that needs fixing or a parent who wants to chat about their child’s progress while we are out and about.
