Sri Manjunatha Masic & Hallow Bricks

Out here on R Kaul Road in the Hassan District, we spend most of our time dealing with mud and cement. Sri Manjunatha Masic & Hallow Bricks is basically a yard full of stacks and the sound of machines running. It gets pretty loud when we are making the hollow blocks, and the dust is just something you learn to live with after a couple of days. Taluka Hassan is where we call home, and the people around here are mostly hard-working folks who just want sturdy materials for their homes. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning or glass doors. You just walk into the yard, find one of us, and tell us what you are looking for. The sun can be real heavy in the afternoons, so we usually take our main break then. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area using the bricks we make right here. It is a good feeling to drive around the district and see walls that started out in our yard. We don't use any high-tech systems to track things, just some old notebooks and a bit of memory. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out perfect, so we set those aside and try again. It is a slow process but it is what we do. The road outside can get quite busy with trucks, especially during the harvest season, but we just keep to our corner and keep the production going.
