We are located in Hassan, Karnataka, which is a bit of a change from the usual big tech hubs like Bangalore. Our office here handles a lot of the background work for the company. It’s a pretty straightforward setup with rows of computers and a few small cabins for meetings. Most of us living in Hassan like it because it’s not as crowded as the bigger cities, though the internet can sometimes be a bit moody when there’s a big storm. We spend the day monitoring systems and answering support queries that come in. It’s a lot of sitting in front of screens, so we make sure to take breaks and walk around. There isn’t much of a corporate culture here; we all know each other’s families and what’s happening in town. We don't have a fancy canteen, so we mostly bring our own tiffins from home or go to the small eateries nearby. The work is technical, but we talk about it in plain English. We don’t really use a lot of big words or try to impress anyone. We just want to make sure the tech is working like it should. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to switch over to the backup, which is just part of life here. It’s a decent place to work, and we keep things simple and honest. We’ve been here for a while and have become a regular part of the local business scene in this part of Karnataka. It works for us and we just keep going.
