Nanhe Tea Stall

Nanhe Tea Stall is just a small shop, number B-36, in the New Shivalik Nagar Complex. We are right on the main road in Shivalik Nagar, Haridwar. Being near the Oriental Bank means we get a lot of bank staff and customers coming over for a quick cup. The complex is always busy with people running errands. I spend most of my day standing by the stove, boiling water and mixing in the tea leaves. It gets really hot in the summer, especially with the steam right in my face. We have a few benches for people to sit, but most just stand around and talk while they drink. The mornings are the busiest because everyone wants their tea before they start work. I have to make sure I have enough milk and sugar delivered early every morning. Sometimes the delivery guy is late and that causes a bit of a rush. The shop is small so there isn't much room to move around once the supplies are inside. I keep the glasses washed in a small basin at the back. It’s a loud spot with all the cars and bikes on the main road, but you get used to the noise after a few days. People come here to complain about the heat or talk about the news. It’s just a regular tea stall where things happen at a slow but steady pace. We don't have a menu or anything, just what’s in the pots.
