Shilpi Uthan Handicrafts Producer Company Limited

Up in Peer Wali Gali, inside New Arya Nagar, is where we have our little setup for Shilpi Uthan. Pilkhuwa is known for its textiles and crafts, so we fit right in here at House Number 507. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with all the materials lying around. We have stacks of fabric and tools in almost every corner of the room. It’s not a showroom, just a workspace where we put things together. We are a producer company, which means we work with a lot of the local artisans who live nearby. Most of them have been doing this for generations. We don't have any fancy signs outside, just the address. People find us by word of mouth mostly. Sometimes the street gets crowded with delivery carts, making it hard to get through. We spend our days checking the quality of the handicrafts and making sure everyone has what they need to keep working. It gets pretty loud when everyone is talking at once, but that's just how it is. We aren't looking to become a huge brand. We just want to make sure the work from our town gets out there. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, especially when we have a lot to finish. We drink a lot of chai and just keep at it until the sun goes down.
