Gram Vikas Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Nagla Gajju in Dhaulana. It’s a small place but we have a lot of farming going on around here. The company was set up because individual farmers were having a hard time getting noticed by the bigger buyers. By coming together, we can handle things a bit better. We aren't doing anything revolutionary. We just grow what we've always grown—wheat, mustard, and whatever else the season allows. We spend a lot of time at the Nagla Gajju site discussing which fertilizers are actually working and where we should send the trucks this week. It’s a lot of loud talking and drinking tea. Our office isn't much to look at, just a place to store the registers and meet up when the sun gets too hot. We don't use big words or have a grand plan. We just want to make sure everyone gets a fair share for their hard work. Farming is a gamble most years, but being in a group makes it feel a bit safer. We know the land here in Dhaulana like the back of our hands. We’ve all been through the same struggles with water and pests. We just try to support each other and keep the village moving forward. It’s simple, day-to-day work for all the families involved in the producer company here in our local area.
