Store Executive

Down here in Village Jouh, near the Chamboh post office, things stay pretty quiet compared to the big towns in Hamirpur. This Store Executive spot is where we handle the supplies for the local people. It’s a small building, mostly just a front counter and some shelves in the back. We carry the basic things that everyone needs so they don't have to travel all the way into the main city every time. The weather up here in Himachal can be unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time making sure the roof is holding up and the stock stays dry. We know everyone in the village, and we usually hear the news of the day before the papers even arrive. It’s a simple operation. We open up early, sweep the front, and wait for the first customers to stop by. Sometimes people just come in to sit for a minute and escape the sun or the rain. We don't have fancy displays or bright neon signs. It’s just a practical place for the community. The shelves aren't always perfectly straight, and sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck gets stuck on the mountain roads. We do our best to get what people ask for. It’s a humble way to make a living, but we’ve been doing it a while now in Jouh.
