The Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya

You can find us over on Moti Mahal Road. The Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya has been a fixture here for quite some time. It’s a girls' school, so the atmosphere is a bit different than the co-ed places down the street. We’ve got these old buildings that have seen thousands of students come and go over the years. Maintenance is a constant job for us; there's always a door that needs oiling or a wall that needs a fresh coat of paint before the new term starts. The girls spend their days moving between the dorms and the classrooms. It’s a lot of routine. Breakfast, morning classes, lunch, more classes, then some time for activities outdoors. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, just the essentials for a decent education. The staff stays busy with grading papers and planning the next week’s lessons in the staff room. Sometimes we host events on the grounds, which means a lot of extra cleaning and organizing for everyone involved. Living and working here on Moti Mahal Road means you get used to the pace of the city right outside the gates, while it stays relatively quiet inside the walls. We don’t make a big fuss about things. We just provide a place for the girls to study and grow up without too much distraction from the outside world. It’s a solid, practical place to be. We keep the lights on and the books open, and that is about it.
