Doon Public School

Doon Public School is situated on Shivpuri Link Road here in Gwalior. It’s a place where kids come to learn and grow every day. We’ve been part of the Gwalior community for a while, and the school has seen many classes pass through its doors. The building is simple, with classrooms that get a lot of natural light. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles, but we have teachers who show up and care about what they do. The morning assembly is usually the loudest part of the day. You can hear the kids from the road. We try to keep the grounds tidy, though with so many students running around, there’s always a stray ball or a lunchbox somewhere. It’s a lively environment, that’s for sure. Parents often drop by to talk about their children’s progress or just to check in. We don't use a lot of complicated systems. We mostly rely on blackboards, books, and talking to one another. Shivpuri Link Road is a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside the gate. We focus on the basics of education. It’s about reading, writing, and making sure the kids understand the world around them. We don't claim to be a high-tech institute. We’re just a school trying to do right by the families in Gwalior who trust us with their children’s time. During the rainy season, the playground gets a bit muddy, but the kids don't seem to mind one bit. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after them, but that's part of the job. The teachers here have their own way of doing things, often staying late to finish grading or to plan for the next day. We don't have a big administration office that stays locked away. The doors are usually open. We think it’s important for the atmosphere to be welcoming rather than formal. Gwalior is a city with a lot of history, and we try to respect that in how we talk to the students. We’re not a chain school with branches everywhere. We’re just this one place on Shivpuri Link Road. We know the names of most of the parents and which kids belong to which family. It makes the school feel more like a community than just an institution. We’re just trying to provide a decent place for learning.
