Down in Athgaon, on S J Road, is where you’ll find R L Agencies. This part of Kamrup district is always moving, especially with all the wholesale activity. Our agency has been here for a good while. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow and steep, but once you're inside, it’s a standard setup. We act as distributors for various goods that move through this region. There are piles of paperwork on the desks and the phone is usually going. We spend a lot of time talking to transporters and making sure the trucks are on schedule. It can get stressful when a shipment gets stuck at the border or the rain turns the roads into a mess. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We’re just a local agency making sure goods get from point A to point B without too much trouble. My cousin handles the billing, and I spend most of my time on the phone or checking the warehouse downstairs. It’s a bit cramped in here, especially when the new stock arrives. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. The market outside is loud, with rickshaws and carts everywhere, but we’re used to it.
