We've been running L. Gopal Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. here in the Ahmed Building on H.B. Road for quite a while now. If you know Fancy Bazar, you know how crowded it gets, but we like being right in the middle of it all. Most people just walk in after doing their other shopping nearby. We mostly handle gold and silver pieces, just the usual stuff people look for during weddings or festivals. My father used to say that a shop is only as good as the people who come back to it, so we try to keep things straightforward. There’s no big fancy showroom with bright flashing lights here. Just some glass counters and a few chairs for you to sit while we show you what's in the safe. We spend our days cleaning pieces, weighing items, and talking to the regulars. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we can barely hear each other, but that's just life on H.B. Road. We don't really do much advertising. Most folks find us because their parents or grandparents bought something here years ago. It’s a small space, and it gets a bit cramped when more than three people are inside at once, but we make it work. We keep the shutters up from morning until late evening. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything, especially with how prices change every single day. We just focus on the jewelry and making sure the scales are accurate every time. We've seen a lot of changes in this bazar over the years.
