Kuvempu Brindavan High School (Kannada Medium)

Our school, Kuvempu Brindavan High School, is located over at 21 Barsapara on the Barasapara Road. Being a Kannada medium school in Guwahati makes things a bit different for us but we just focus on the daily teaching. We have been in the Barowari area for a long time and the neighborhood has changed quite a bit since we first started. The high school years are always a bit stressful for the students because of the board exams and all that pressure. We just try to keep them focused on their books. The school building is an older one but it serves its purpose well enough for the classes we hold. We do not have any grand philosophy or anything like that. It is just about getting the syllabus finished and making sure the students pass their tests. Most of the families who send their kids here have been in this part of Guwahati for generations. You can find us easily if you are heading towards the stadium area. On match days the traffic around here gets really bad and it affects our timing sometimes. We just deal with those things as they come. There are no fancy uniforms or expensive equipment here. It is just a basic school where we use chalkboards and notebooks like most places used to do. We keep the gates open early so the kids have a place to wait before the first bell rings.
